Zombies Vs. First Graders
What a successful sixth birthday party for Jaxson! It was a rainy morning while my cousin Lauren painted giant zombies on our garage door before we had a group of first grade zombie fighters to use their water guns to defeat them. I did more supervision than helping. We attempted to make the green squares on the ground but it wasn't going as easily as it did in my mind so we had a just few green squares. The humid and misty air made the special paint Lauren whipped up be extra runny but it went well with the zombie look. The kids were very impressed with the zombies. Secretly Dave hoped they didn't wash off.
So many of Jaxson's friends from school and his long time friends from Mel's came. It was a packed house. We ate pizza. Sprayed zombies. Ate brain cupcakes. Opened presents. It was about as successful of a birthday party as we ever had!

SIX!
We are officially working on his second hand to count his age. Wowza!
We had a special birthday day filled with lunch, skyzone, birthday picking out at Target (since the rain drenched our pool plans) cake, and presents.

Adam was a great willing dodge ball participant after I got hit too many times.
At lunch with Carol we had the non trick candle that was being a trick candle. It came back to life at least 5 times and he kept blowing it out over and over again with tons of giggles in between. Does that mean he gets extra wishes?

Summer Fun List
We made a summer fun list to get some fun stuff in this summer! It is filled with 48 funtastic (haha) activities to get in before my boy heads back to school as a first grader! Oh, and Asher heads to preschool. {insert sobbing here}
We are a week in and got a couple things crossed off our list. I-cubs game and fireworks!

Thumb wars weren't on the list but should have been. And officially crossed off!
Never thirsty with a camel bak. They weren't really thirsty, they just thought it was fun.
Fireworks with the capital all lit up at night after the game.

Chinese Warrior
The other morning we were getting ready to go to Mel's and Jaxson had a few extra minutes. He actually got up and got going because he was so excited to see his friends. In the few minutes he had he wrote numbers and "chinese warrior" in chinese. He said he needs to keep practicing since writing in Chinese is so hard.
Yep, looks really hard. And that is also really cool.

The Playset
We decided to get the boys a playset this year. We had a plastic swingset and the boys are just getting a little too big for it. We enlisted my dad's help of course. We decided to do rubber pavers under the swing set to avoid mud and have a soft landing for falls. We had to excavate because our backyard has a bit of a hill. My dad is one who always has a friend who has a friend and this time he had a friend who had a skidloader ot help us excavate the area! The boys loved watching them and giggled and watched the whole thing.
It took hours of my dad and Dave putting the swingset together but now that it is all finished they run out morning, afternoon, and night to go down their big (and most importantly) yellow slide!
